Wecome to Refugee TV - RTV is the first television station in the U.K. which is owned and run by members of refugee communities and serves the interests of refugee communities. It is a satellite (Sky) channel which will broadcast from studios in Hammersmith and West London.

Founder of Refugee TV Mr Mayvand organised a conference at the House of Commons with the assistance of Neil Gerrard MP, the conference was attended by many Refugee related organisations. Refugee TV launch event
Many thanks to all the participants who attended the Refugee TV launch event during Refugee Week. The event was held with the support of the Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham, at the Council Chambers in Hammersmith. It was attended by representatives from refugee community organisations, arts organisations, individual artists, refugee agencies, educational establishments and politicians. Afghan refugees are looking forward to a brighter future
With 646,000 refugees having returned home last year, Afghanistan is top of the league for returnees, according to a new UN report.For a country still struggling to establish security after nearly a quarter-century of war, this offers a ray of hope.Those flocking back are not just officially registered refugees.Alongside them are people who have lived all or most of their lives outside the country and just find the new Afghanistan a more congenial society than it was. Chad-Darfur Emergency
The UN refugee agency is battling the elements, massive logistics obstacles and daunting security challenges to help hundreds of thousands of people uprooted by the conflict in Sudan's Darfur region. The agency is racing to assist more than 170,000 Sudanese refugees in Chad and move them to camps away from the volatile Chad-Sudan border before heavy seasonal rains cut off access to this remote region. Across the border in strife-torn Darfur itself, UNHCR has started working to improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of displaced Sudanese in camps. Read more....
Imagine.art.after show calling for artists.
We are looking for artists to be part of a project exploring the artistic relations between people seeking asylum in the UK, and people in the countries they have left behind. imagine.art.after is an exhibition about the proximity of art and life against the backdrop of contemporary world politics. All participating artists are from one of 35 countries whose people, according to the Home Office, make the most applications for asylum in the UK. UN refugee agency concert in London's Roy al Albert Hall
On December 8, the UN refugee agency will hold a unique concert in London's Roy al Albert Hall to raise funds for victims of western Sudan's Darfur conflict. International musicians and singers in the diverse line-up include singer-songwriter David Gray, Mercury Music Prize winners Franz Ferdinand – one of Britain's hottest bands – lead singer of the Pretenders Chrissie Hynde, soprano Barbara Hendricks, disco-diva Jocelyn Brown, Grammy Award nominee Alison Moyet, Simply Red front man Mick Hucknall, singers Robbie Craig and Andrew Coleman. Yemen: Risking Refuge

Increasingly large numbers of Somali refugees and other desperate people are trying to make their way across the Gulf of Aden to the shores of Yemen to find refuge from war and poverty. This desperate journey has cost hundreds their lives as they seek a better life. UNHCR assists those who survive and tries to discourage others from making the perilous journey. Displaced in Uganda: replacing despair with hope

In northern Uganda, a tentative peace has given people enough hope to move out of massive camps for the displaced. For more than a decade, the Lord's Resistance Army attacked targets in the north and abducted children to help fight its battles. The violence has scarred everyone in the region, but it has been especially hard for the abductees to go back home.
